The Knowledge Workshops provide Members with the highest level ‘just in time’, strategic information that they would not otherwise be expected to know. Experts are positioned as industry leaders in their sector; your Workshop should deliver insight into how your knowledge & expertise may assist the audience in making business decisions. Workshops should be delivered in “TED Talk” style, to help with audience engagement.

 

STRUCTURE

The Workshop is designed to deliver a “TED style Talk” in under 30 minutes. The 6 Steps to a highly engaging Workshop:
  1. Topics: are to be highly relevant, timely & of strategic nature, delivered in plain English.
  2. Clear Idea: Explain your idea clearly, including why and how it could be implemented.
  3. Real-Life Case Studies: Engage with the audience using case studies & real examples.
  4. Group Activity: Include a group activity to encourage audience participation & discussion.
  5. Value-Added Material: include handouts and checklists to illustrate your points further.
  6. Leaders Interact Devices: Use questions to introduce new content and audience feedback.

 

DELIVERY
PowerPoint Slides can deliver an impactful message and assist to clarify your views to the audience.
  • Maximum 10 – 12 PowerPoint Slides.
  • Use minimal text – min. font size 16.
  • Graphs & Infographics – keep visually clear.
  • I mages & Photos assists audience to remember your Workshop.
  • Final slide to highlight Key Workshop Takeaways.
  • Include your company’s Twitter & Linkedin along with @qldleaders & Queensland Leaders.

 

LEADERS INTERACT DEVICES
  • These devices enable you to gain real time accurate responses.
  • Questions can gain honest feedback and encourage the audience to think more deeply about their own circumstances.
  • Workshops should include 3-4 questions.

To assist with the delivery of a compelling workshop, the below tips are provided as a guide for use during the preparation and rehearsal.
